At a global press event today, Brian McClendon shared the story of Google’s decade-long effort to build the most comprehensive, accurate and navigable map of the world ever created. The Geo team also demoed three new features: Helicopter (Google Earth in 3D for whole metro regions); Trekker (Street View technology in a backpack), and Google Maps for Android offline (no connection needed!).
